Op Art 1
I am not yet finished with my op art, but so far I think it looks all right. The outer portion looks pretty bad right now, but I hope to fix it up so that it matches the inner portion.
Pop Art Sculpture
Although I did not have time to finish my pop art sculpture, I think it was going well and with some more work would have turned out nicely. I was creating a market lamb which I would later paint in Japanese pop art inspired colors and patterns. I don't hate paper mache quite as much as watercolor, but I'm not a huge fan either.
Watercolor
I learned one thing from this project: I despise watercolors. I think the middle shell turned out decently, but I wasn't pleased with the outcome of the others. I think I like the look of the shading better before it is blended. I think the matting looks nice, but next time I would make it more apparent what the background is depicting. I'm not sure how I feel overall about this project. Since my knowledge of watercolors is limited, I'm not sure if I just suck at using them or if they always look like that. I think I just suck. This project was a learning experience and taught me that professional watercolor painting is not in my future.
Character Skeleton
For my character skeleton drawing, I chose Perry and Ferb from Phineas and Ferb. This project was a challenge but enjoyable as well. If I did this project again, I would spend more time on the ribs and shoes. Also, Perry's spine should have been farther over, so his ribcage and hip bones didn't match up like they should have. I also would color the original drawing more flatly so that it better resembles the style of the characters. I think I did well with the legs and feet. Overall, I enjoyed this project and would consider doing something similar in the future.

Text Collage
I really enjoyed this project. It took FOREVER and it doesn't show much movement, but I still like it and plan on hanging it up on my wall. While completing this project I discovered that I enjoy arranging text and plan on doing a similar project on my own time in the future. My text collage may not make sense to anyone else, but most of the words I used have some sort of meaning. Either that or I liked the font. Okay, it was usually just because I liked the font. The word "sensational" really has no meaning, I just liked the cursive. But still. Some have meaning. If I did this project again, I would arrange the words in a way that showed more movement and balance the colors more effectively.
Letterform Abstraction II
While I enjoyed designing the abstractions for this project, it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. The black paints that I used were two slightly different finishes and shades and one white was slightly warmer than the other, which made the project look streaky and all around weird. Also, the paint ended up rough and brushstroke-y. If I did this project again, I would paint it all at home so the paint would match and I could use my 18/0 brush for the details. Although it didn't end up being all I hoped it would be, I think this project was a good learning experience.
